THE PLUSNET FIBRE BROADBAND TRIAL GIVES GOOD SPEED

Amidst all the fanfare and speculation surrounding the next generation fibre optic broadband, leading broadband companies one and all are looking at getting the best of the new innovation and reach more and more customers in turn.

British Telecom with its Infinity campaign has got superb publicity all over the United Kingdom and is also spreading its fibre optic area across the nation by the day. This is where Internet Service Provider Plusnet went on to do a trial of the fibre optic broadband in turn. The results were stated by the company. Customers under this scheme are getting as much as speeds of around 30Mb.

The trail 400 customers are getting this internet speed that the ISP Plusnet is providing them with through the BT broadband's Infinity network. They are looking at more and more people signing in for the same.

In the mean while, online registration date for the Plusnet fibre optic broadband trial ends on the 25th of January this year. As many as 15-20% of the country’s people will have access to the lightning fast fibre broadband in the coming months. Although relatively a large part of the country will have to wait before they in turn get access to the next generation internet.

The BT Infinity network sees the use of fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) technology. This FTTC runs fibre optic cables to streetside telephone cabinets. Then there are the traditional copper wires that complete the connection. The latest wireless N standard routers give the households, the superb speeds as offered by the fibre broadband technology from the house of BT.
