The BT infinity broadband package that offers mind boggling speeds of over 40mbps is all set to reach one area after the other. The company for once has its plans all set to reach as many areas as possible in the coming time even as the entire of UK is looking at the next generation of Fibre Optic Broadband connectivity by as much as 2015.
British Telecom is no doubt been at the helm of all things in the recent times when it comes to this latest innovation in internet. Even the people of entire UK are looking forward to having access to the lightning fast internet speeds that the infinity package promises to give. 41 market towns will thus have access to the super fast internet from BT. this was in addition to the top six small towns and villages that won the Infinity Race.
The "Race to Infinity" saw more than 360000 votes being cast from all across the UK. In the end it was the six areas that made the cut namely Baschurch in Shropshire, Blewbury in Oxfordshire, Caxton and Madingley in Cambridgeshire, Innerleithen in Scottish Borders and Whitchurch in Hampshire.
Talking of the forty one towns, as many as 300,000 businesses and consumers will have access to the super fast internet in the coming short time once the infrastructure is put into place by BT. This should be done by spring 2012.
Ofcom did criticize the company’s plans somewhat and spoke of the loop holes and opportunities for competitors. Yet BT for once, seems determined in spreading its broadband wings like never before all across UK.
